The Los Angeles Angels signing of reliever Robert Stephenson may have shocked some people, but it helped address a real need on the roster. All offseason, the Angels have been looking to bring in talent, and they haven't abandoned that thought.

MLB Insider Robert Murray of FanSided believes that the signing of Stephenson may just be the start for the team. The Halos have been connected with multiple big names this offseason, and they've remained in the thick of it all.

“To me, for the Angels, this signals the first of a bunch of moves that are yet to come. I would not rule a Bellinger or Snell type.”

Per Robert Murray of FanSided

Some of the names that have been linked with the Angels are starting pitcher Blake Snell and outfielder Cody Bellinger. Both players could vastly help improve this team, but it remains to be seen if the Angels will spend the type of money it would take.

Both Snell and Bellinger would be incredible gets for the Angels this offseason. They've wanted to remain competitive for next season, and making a signing like this would help their chances.

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal doubled down on this thought, saying that he was convinced they would add more talent.

"They are looking. They are going to do more things, I'm convinced of it."

The biggest issue with signing someone like Snell is that the Halos have typically stayed away from handing out large free-agent deals to pitchers. But this could be a time to change that line of thinking.

Snell won the National League Cy Young award last season with the San Diego Padres, and he would instantly bolster their rotation. He may be the exception here, and would immediately become a fan favorite.

The Angels front office knows that the job isn't done yet, and they are letting the market come to them. It's been a slower offseason than usual, but we are far from done.
