One of the most notable absences from the Los Angeles Angels in their 6-4 loss in the first match of a series against the Washington Nationals was that of Anthony Rendon.

Rendon had finally returned from a four-game suspension after the infamous altercation with an Athletics fan and can't seem to catch a break. He got hit with a speeding pitch early in the ninth inning of his fourth game with the squad.

Take a look for yourself here.

However, even though Rendon finished that game, it was revealed that he was unable to participate in LA's next match against the Nationals due to shoulder soreness after getting hit.

It was a blow for the Halos as they clearly could have used his skill to hopefully have had a different outcome.

Unfortunately, team manager Phil Nevin revealed some worrisome details regarding his status and even though he may be ready for Wednesday's rematch against Washington, he's not even sure if he can step up to the plate.

"He got hit pretty hard yesterday as you guys saw," said Nevin. "98 right in the shoulder but we'll see how he feels tomorrow. I mean, that ball got him pretty good. He took ground balls, there was a lot of things he was able to do. It's just swinging a bat was not one of them. I could've used him for defense so in that way, he was available." Rendon is looking to bounce back from all of this noise and prove that he can be the third star on this Angels roster. He has suited up in four games for LA thus far and is posting a slash like that needs improvement with .231/.353/.231.
