The Los Angeles Angels picked up a much-needed win on Monday against the Baltimore Orioles in the first of a four-game series. Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani showed up and showed out in the batter's box and on the mound (I know, shocker, right?). It was Ohtani's night as he etched his way into the record books again; however, the Halos also welcomed back their second-string catcher, Chad Wallach

Wallach returned to the lineup on Monday after being placed in the seven-day IL last Tuesday after suffering a concussion. He spent less than seven days in the IL and gave huge thanks to the Halos medical staff for his quick recovery.

“Anytime you get that kind of stuff, a couple symptoms like that, especially with a history like mine, it’s not fun,” Wallach said. “But you realize it’s going to get better.”

“I didn’t feel anywhere near what I felt last time, so that was good,” Wallach said. “The way they handled it here was really well done, just to be cautious about it.”

The 31-year-old catcher missed the majority of the 2019 season as a member of the Miami Marlins, playing in only 19 games.

Wallach came back in a huge way for the Halos to secure their 22nd win of the season. In his first game back since May 6th, he went 3-for-5 with one run, one home run, and one RBI raising his batting average to .314.

The second sting catcher has been on a tear as of late, in his past seven games, he is slashing .364/.364/.545 with a .909 OPS and has eight hits and three RBIs in that process. After all the injuries the Halos catchers have suffered, including Wallach, it is nice to have him back, and hopefully, the injuries, especially at that position, are over and done with.
