Angels News: Columnist Doesn't Love Mike Trout's High Rank in All-Star Votes
Mike Trout is certainly as loyal as they come seeing that he has only been to the playoffs once in his career yet has remained with the Los Angeles Angels ever since he was a rookie. However, no matter how many injuries he went through or how many times he couldn't will the squad to success by himself, LA's front office supported him through it all as well.
But this could be the year folks... we don't want to get too ahead of ourselves but the Angels have won three straight series in dominant fashion and we may just see Trout back in the playoffs and also his superstar teammate Shohei Ohtani get his own first taste. Trout started off the year hot as he batted .317 to go with seven homers in the first month of the 2023 season and was right behind Ohtani in AL MVP conversations.
However, fans have been noticing that in the last few weeks n which the Halos have been able to win a tremendous amount of games, Trout is not capitalizing at the plate like usual. Over the past five games, he is batting just .176 and opposing pitchers continue to use fast balls against him... something we do not hear very often.
What makes this even more interesting is that fans around the MLB are obviously not concerned with his recent struggles and know he'll get back to top-form eventually.
The first round of 2023 MLB All-Star voting results came back and Trout placed in number two for the AL outfielders category just behind Aaron Judge. It's safe to say that Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller does not agree with this.
"Among the rest of the AL outfielders, the only slight gripe is that Trout should not be in the top three ahead of Arozarena. But Trout does belong in the top six, so no big deal."

We all know that Trout will get over this and maybe that upcoming All-Star break will help.
