Your Los Angeles Angels are playing their best baseball of the year at the moment, and they may not have even hit their ceiling. The Angels took their second of four against their division rival Texas Rangers on Tuesday, 7-3.

Three of those seven runs came in the sixth inning thanks to a fielders choice with Anthony Rendon's hit and outfielder Hunter Renfroe's two-run bomb to give them a one-run lead, 4-3. Renfroe spoke to the OC Register after the win and said the team knew they could be great and compete with the best teams in the league.

“We knew this was gonna happen,” Renfroe said of the team’s recent hot streak. “We knew we were going to play good baseball eventually. I think the first month we weren’t pitching well or weren’t hitting. Finally, come here this month we’re really playing really good baseball. We’re starting to heat up.”

The Halos are indeed heating up; Tuesday marked their seventh win in the last eight games. The Angels currently sit at 4.5 games out of the top spot in the AL West and one game out of the final spot in the AL Wild Card.

In their last seven wins, the team is averaging 6.5 runs and 8.2 hits per game. Things are looking great for the Angels, and they may be just getting started; the hitting is coming along when it wasn't quite clicking at the start of the season, and the pitching seems to have found its groove after an up-and-down start.

The Halos will look to get greedy and take the series outright against the Rangers as they could inch closer to the top spot in the division.
