The push toward the playoffs continues for the Los Angeles Angels. Things aren’t looking great for them right now, but there is still time left to turn things around.

The Halos are trying to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2014. It has been a frustrating season for them so far, but they are still fighting. The team should be getting star Mike Trout back this week, which will help things. He has missed almost two months due to injury, so getting him back will give them a major boost.

They find themselves pretty far back of the final wild-card spot in the American League, so the Angels have their work cut out for them. Their moves at the trade deadline haven’t panned out in the manner that they had hoped, but you have to appreciate their aggressiveness at least.

In the latest MLB.com power rankings, the Halos did move up one spot from No. 20 to No. 19. That’s one of the few positive things that has gone on lately for the Angels, but it’s something at least.

The Angels need to start putting up wins in a consistent manner, otherwise, this will be another lost season. They have put themselves into a tough position down the stretch, and they will also need help from other teams to get back into contention.

Things aren't looking strong for their postseason chances, and to make matters worse, they have the impending free agency of Shohei Ohtani this winter.

He has spoken at length about his desire to win and so far, the Angels haven't been able to meet his expectations. Many believe that he will leave the organization once his contract ends, so this last part of the season is make or break for the Halos.
