Angels News: Halos Top Pitching Prospect Details Amazing Debut
It's looking like the Los Angeles Angels have yet another gem on their hands in the making as their bullpen welcomed the addition of Ben Joyce on Tuesday. After a rollercoaster week that saw them sweep the Boston Red Sox and then get swept by the Miami Marlins, they were looking for a new spark.
And it looks like they got just that at Joyce looked to replace the elite production that Matt Moore was showcasing before he went down with an oblique injury. He was able to take the mound for a single inning and yes, that is a super small sample size, but he looked quite poised for his first game.
The 22-year-old RHP was able to strike out two batters while only giving up one hit. LA came out on top of the Chicago White Sox 6-4 as they started their week off with a victory.
He also impressed the entire baseball world with his fastballs off the rip.
Joyce touched on how felt in his Major League debut and how he trusted in all of his work to get there.
"I felt very comfortable. A lot more comfortable than I thought I'd feel. I just went out and trusted my stuff and threw strikes, and it worked out. It was an amazing feeling."

The goal for Joyce moving forward is sticking within his role and maximizing it. LA already tried to put another recent call-up, Chase Silseth, in the starting lineup and he could not handle the big load.
Joyce certainly has the potential to take on the role so we'll see how he fares as he gets more opportunities.
The Halos are set to face off against the White Sox once again at 5:10 pm PT.
