Angels News: Injured Lefty Pitcher Closing in On Return to Roster
The Los Angeles Angels have a number of injurie sin their front. They may have lost their catcher Logan O'Hoppe for the season, Anthony Rendon is in the injury list once again for the second time in a span of a month, and infielder Gio Urshela is out for the whole year. Injuries have riddled the Halos, but don't rule them out just yet.
There injuries may seem devestating, but at least they will be getting back one of their key relievers. Accoridng to Angels insider for the OC Register Jeff Flecther, southpaw reliever Matt Moore could eb returning as soon as next week.
LHP Matt Moore did well in a bullpen session today. So he’ll have a sim game (or maybe just a more extensive bullpen) on Saturday in Colorado. He could be activated after that. #Angels
Moore last pitched on May 23rd against the Boston Red Sox. He has missed the last month or so due to an oblique strain, he was then placed in the 15-day IL.
In 2023, he has had a career year posting a 1.44 ERA, with a 3-1 record, 21 strikeouts and a 0.80 WHIP in 22 games and 25 innings pitched.
Moore has been missed and he will surely bring the firepower out of the Halos bullpen. It's great to hear he's doing great, hopeuflly, all goes well for the 34-year-old and we see him back on the mound next week.
