It’s been a wildly frustrating year for the Los Angeles Angels, and one that could see them making some big changes this offseason. With the team missing the postseason once again, the organization could be putting in place the decision to bring in all new personnel.

Both Manager Phil Nevin and General Manager Perry Minasian are question marks to return to the team once the season is over. Minasian remains the more likely of the two to return, and Nevin all but seems gone at this point.

MLB insider Robert Murray added some fuel to the fire, giving some updates on the two men.

“I think the Angels are gonna be looking for a new manager next year. That is my read as we speak.”

Per Robert Murray

Nevin guided the team this year and was already kind of on the hot seat. After inheriting the squad from former manager Joe Maddon, Nevin was never really the first choice of the Angels. So after another lackluster season, he will likely be searching for another job.

Minasian remains a real question, as they could elect to keep him on to help navigate things. But he has been with the team since 2020, and they haven’t seen the playoffs. Murray continued with his updates about the Halos.

“I think the future of their general manager is a little more in question.”

Per Robert Murray

In addition, two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani is scheduled to be a free agent, and it is expected that he will leave the team this offseason. The Angels could decide to start over fresh entirely, especially if Ohtani does leave the organization.

After another tough year, it is likely in their best interests to start over. The Angels need to find a way to get themselves back into contention consistently, and this offseason is going to tell us a lot about how they plan to do just that.
