Jo Adell has returned from the oblique injury that landed him on the 60-day injured list earlier in the year, and he is feeling good.

“I thought I was a little stiff yesterday, but I kind of found my rhythm back today,” Adell said. “I’ve been seeing the ball well though. That’s the big thing. My at-bats have been at least five, six pitches deep, most of them. Today definitely connected more and had better results.”

Adell returned to the lineup after missing baseball since early July and after a long recovery window and a quick rehab assignment, the 24-year-old outfielder is finally back contributing in the bigs.

Adell had a quiet start in his first two games going 1-9 with 5 strikeouts but his third game against the Rays saw a change in approach and a change in results.

Adell went 2-3 with a walk and a 2-run home run giving the Angels a 4-2 lead in the 6th inning.

Unfortunately, the Angels ended up losing the game 5-4 in extras but there are many good takeaways for Adell in a season he is looking to end hot and hopefully carry it into the offseason.

Adell knew during his time recovering that he needed to make changes to his approach and start building a good rhythm within each at-bat to be able to change his approach in different situations.

Now in three games back, Adell is 3-12 with a double and home run but the young piece still struck out 5 times, including 4 times in one game in his second game back.

Adell will look to continue to improve at the plate during the offseason and put together a strong season so he can lead alongside players like Logan O'Hoppe and Zach Neto next year.
