Angels News: Mike Trout Ranked as Third-Best Player in MLB Right Now
Mike Trout was ranked as the No. 3 player in baseball on the MLB Network's annual top 100 players list. Trout has spent his fair share of time in the No. 1 spot on that list, but unfortunately for him, that spot is now occupied by his teammate, Shohei Ohtani.
Trout only trailed Ohtani and Yankees superstar Aaron Judge on the list, although I think there's a real case for Trout being ahead of Judge. Either way, being ranked third is something to be proud of, and it's as deserving as ever for one of baseball's greatest players.
Last year, Trout became just the sixth player in MLB history to hit 40 or more home runs in 120 or fewer games, and is hoping to have a similar year this season — but healthier.
Trout said he feels 100 percent healthy heading into the new season, and is hoping to stay that way for a majority of the year. If he does, he could have a real shot at winning his fourth MVP Award.
Nothing, however, is more important to Trout than winning. He wants to make the postseason this year, and wants to do everything he can to convince Ohtani to remain with this team long-term. Trout and Ohtani lead a very talented Angels roster this season, so maybe this is finally the year it all comes together for the Halos.
