Another day and another win for the Los Angeles Angels. It's been a long time since that statement was true but after a wild comeback Monday night against the division leading Texas Rangers, the Angels are hot. They only sit 5.5 games back of Texas for the AL West lead and it seems things are clicking at the right time. However, manager Phil Nevin wants the team to stay focused on the right things.

“There’s a lot of baseball to be played. But we’re measuring ourselves against some of the best in the league right now, and (the Rangers) certainly are, talent-wise, the manager, coaching, everything. They’re really good and we played a good ballgame.”

-Nevin per The Orange County Register

Led by their two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, the Angels never quit despite going down by multiple runs early in the game. Ohtani chipped in two home runs, one to tie the game in the 7th inning and then one to help seal the win in extras.

Los Angeles now sits six games over .500 for the first time all season and things seem to be trending upward for them. It was the type of win that can help create some real momentum for a team in need. They were on the road but came together and found a way to win.

They still have three more in Texas before heading to Kansas City for three games. This team has a chance to make a statement and if Monday was any indication, they just might do so.
