The rumors say Shohei Ohtani is done with the Los Angeles Angels. He wants to win, and the Angels don’t know how to do that.

This past weekend Ohtani cleared out his locker in the clubhouse. He needs a procedure to repair his UCL as he prepares for his first free agency offseason.

However, Angels’ manager Phil Nevin insists Ohtani likes the Angels.

"He likes being here,” Nevin said. “He likes being around his teammates. I think it’s a place for him to be himself. It would be nice to have him here in that last week.”

Nevin is trying to save face. Undoubtedly the Angels will try to re-sign their popular superstar Ohtani who will win his second American League MVP. Nevertheless, this possibility is slim. In his six years with the Angels, Ohtani’s team hasn’t had a winning record.

Since Ohtani doesn't speak to the media, not many people know what he is thinking. However, it's clear he wants to win.

The Angels are a poorly run organization that doesn’t seem know what they are doing. At this trading deadline with a slight chance of making the playoffs, the Angels bought, and since then, the team has tanked.

If Ohtani wants to win, he can’t stay in Anaheim. His free agency will be the most watched in history. He probably will sign the most lucrative contract in the history of professional sports. Since Ohtani is a generational talent, he deserves every penny he can get with an organization that is committed to winning.
