As things change, the more things tend to stay the same. For the sport of baseball, the best player in the game hasn’t changed over the last few seasons. It has steadily been Angels' two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani and it continues to be. His game has helped the sport grow and his ability continues to dazzle billions of people each and every time he takes the field.

The sport of baseball hasn’t seen this level of success since back in the days of legendary player, Babe Ruth. Ohtani and Ruth have been linked together due to their two-way abilities and it has caused much speculation on whether or not Ohtani will go down as the best player to ever play the game.

That debate remains ongoing, and Ohtani still has a long career ahead of him but every season, he inches closer to the title. This also means that he gets talked about in the same breath as Ruth and even is compared as well. Recently, Ohtani made history this season as he became only the third player ever to record 31-plus home runs and six-plus triples before the All-Star break.

This likely isn't the last time that he appears on this list which is incredible. On the year, Ohtani has 32 home runs and six triples as the Angels headed into the All-Star break. He is on pace to break both of his own single season records for the individual categories and it just speaks to how great Ohtani truly is.

He is currently the frontrunner for the American League MVP award, and he would likely still win it if you were to only look at his batting results. His greatness knows no bounds and it has forever changed the way the game of baseball will be seen.
