It's been a rough few weeks for the Angels as they have seen their three best players all go down with injuries. Luckily, the injury to two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani doesn't seem too bad and he can continue hitting the ball at least. He is dealing with a blister issue on his hand so he will not be pitching for the time being.

Yet, even with the greatness of Ohtani, the Angels have started to struggle. They have seen themselves drop a ton of games recently and with all the injuries, many have started to wonder if they will look to possibly trade Ohtani at the trade deadline. He is scheduled to be a free agent this winter so rather lose this once in a lifetime talent for nothing, maybe the Angels could get something for him.

The team has been very against trading their superstar but given the circumstances, it may be their best idea. MLB insider Jon Heyman for The New York Post seems to believe that there is a chance Ohtani could be moved here in a few weeks.

"The Angels are telling folks they will “know a lot more in the next two or three weeks” regarding their plans. Folks still have a hard time imagining owner Arte Moreno trading the game’s best current player, and maybe the best ever, even if he’s somehow convinced they have no chance to re-sign him. Even so, Angels people seem to be leaving open the slight possibility of an Ohtani blockbuster."

Per The NY Post

The Angels would be foolish not to at least look into an Ohtani trade if they continue to spiral. The majority of people around baseball don't believe that Ohtani will stay with the Angels after the season so they'd be better off to trade him now.

If they don't and he does leave the organization for nothing, it would be almost criminal. The Angels haven't made the playoffs since 2014 and they have done nothing to show Ohtani that they will do what it takes to get there since his arrival

The idea of an Ohtani trade is crazy because the haul would be massive. But as the Angels continue to struggle, it becomes more of a reality each passing day.
