Angels News: Shohei Ohtani Returns from Nail Injury & Immediately Makes History
For the majority of us, it is just an average Tuesday and we just took a seat on our nice couch and turned on some baseball. Shohei Ohtani was in the midst of yet another classic performance on the mound as the Los Angeles Angels were taking on the Chicago White Sox and looking to get a second straight win. They had dropped their last two series and it was time to get back on track.
Through just over six innings, Ohtani was able to strike out ten of Chicago's batters while only allowing four hits and one run. Like I said, he was doing what he always does and even though the Halos hadn't produced a ton of offense themselves, it was not a problem because he had started them off with a homer earlier in the game.
However, then his fingernail decided to start acting up. In the middle of the sixth inning, Ohtani had to leave the mound early for the first time in 2023 as the Angels' trainers came to check on him and took him to the dugout for the rest of the inning.

But the 28-year-old superstar clearly wanted to keep playing and the medical staff deemed he would be okay to continue batting. He decided to thank them by stepping up to the plate in the seventh inning and connecting on yet another home run.
This one was actually his 28th of the year and seeing that it was his second one of the night, he made history in his own regard.
"10+ strikeouts and 2 HR in game, since 1900: TONIGHT SHOHEI OHTANI 4/2/2019 Zack Greinke 4/2/2017 Madison Bumgarner 8/28/1971 Rick Wise 7/31/1963 Pedro Ramos 8/27/1961 Milt Pappas"
Just give the man his MVP award already!
