As the Angels continue their season, they have dealt with more injuries than they would have ever liked to see. Multiple players have missed significant time, including star outfielder Mike Trout. He remained healthy for the first part of the season but has been dealing with injuries since July and hardly played.

It seems that things have been more difficult for him as the year has gone on and he is still out dealing with an injury.

Trout returned to the lineup for one game after a long absence a couple of weeks ago but quickly was sent back to the injured list. Both he and the team don’t want to rush him back, especially given where the Angels are in the standings. But the hope is that he can get himself healthy whenever he can play again.

“We’re gonna be smart about it,” Trout said. “When it feels right, I’m going to go out there. It could be a few days, could be a week. I don’t have a timeline on it. It’s frustrating.”

Per The OC Register

He is arguably one of the best players to ever play the game of baseball, so it is unfortunate that he hasn’t been able to remain healthy. The Angels star just wants a chance to have a fully healthy season after some rough years.

“If you look back at the last few years, I’ve been banged up. To go out there and put a full year together, that’s the main goal for everybody, especially myself.”

Per The OC Register

It may be the best-case situation for everyone involved to shut him down for the rest of the season. With the Angels essentially out of the playoff picture, there isn’t any real point in having him return. They may be better off to have him rest, fully heal up and get ready for next season.

The game of baseball is much worse off when Trout isn’t in the lineup. He is must-watch TV whenever he is on the field, and he draws in a massive crowd each time he plays.
