Angels News: Zach Neto is Finding His Stride
Los Angeles Angels rookie Zach Neto had a tough start to his rookie campaign. He didn't record his first hit till his tenth AB, and he was just thrown into the fire of some sort. However, he's now 18 games into his big-league career and looking a lot more comfortable.
The 22-year-old is playing one of the toughest positions in the league and is doing it with some ease as a rookie. The Bally Sports West commentators broke down his game on both sides of the diamond.
Neto has yet to record a homer in his 58 ABs, but he's slashing .259/.348/.328 with a .676 OPS. On top of that, he has five RBIs, four runs, and a handful of web gems in his short career.
The shortstop was called up in mid-April and was called up for veteran David Flecther, who was having a horrendous start to the season. Neto was selected with the 13th overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft.
Zach has been a fresh of breathe air for the Halos, as he has the potential to carry this organization for years to come. He's just getting his feet wet, and we can't wait to see how he develops for the rest of the season.
