The Los Angeles Angels pitchers and catchers will report on Tuesday; however, there won't be any significant starting pitchers heading to Arizona.

The Halos haven't signed a starting pitcher to add to their rotation. Nonetheless, Angels general manager Perry Minasian and the crew want to change that. Minasian appeared on MLB Network Radio and said they're still looking for a starting pitcher.

Minasian and the Halos front office haven't been as aggressive on that front. The team has made some impact signings to their bullpen but has nothing else to show for.

There are still plenty of options to choose from, and the Angels have been linked to these two pitchers: lefty ace Jordan Montgomery and the reigning 2023 NL CY Young winner, Blake Snell.

Either one of these studs would bolster the Halos rotation instantly. For Montgomery, he throws five pitches, but his lethal ones are the sinker and curveball. That two-pitch combo made him dangerous in the playoffs, where he collected a 2.90 ERA with a 3-1 record and a 1.35 WHIP.

As for Snell, he's coming off his best season since winning his first Cy Young award in 2018 with the Tampa Bay Rays. The 31-year-old was as dominant as possible in 2023, and the Halos could benefit from his talents.

The Angels don't lack any lefties in their rotation. Still, the Halos wouldn't mind adding another one, especially if it's Snell or Montgomery.

The only worry for these two is the money they'll garner. Minasian wouldn't answer whether he could afford either of these guys, but you could only assume they can with their lack of signings this offseason.
