Despite all of the recent success that the Los Angeles Angels have seen to kick off their 2023 season, the Anthony Rendon situation continues to loom over their head for the time-being. Opposing fans have booed him whenever he steps up to the plate, he has refused to comment on the incident, and there has been a ton of heat surrounding his name since it went down.

New angles have emerged since the original video and we can clearly see Rendon call the accused fan over to his direction and grab him by his shirt before attempting to hit him in the face.

Any type of interactions with people in the crowd that are talking mess never play over well but the Angels third baseman's reaction just makes him look bad. Being the professional in his own work setting, Rendon needed to be the bigger person and, if anything, he should've reported the fan to team officials to get him kicked out.

Even though no disciplinary actions have been taken by the MLB as their investigation continues, the baseball world hasn't been too kind to him. In Andy McCullough's biggest takeaways from opening weekend, he referred to Rendon as a 'knucklehead.'

"Anthony Rendon acted like a knucklehead," said McCullough. "You can do a lot of things in baseball. You can’t swing on fans. In time, the incident will be investigated, Rendon will be disciplined (or not), and the viral moment will fade into the long season’s mélange. But it was an embarrassing way to start a season for a franchise looking to snap its postseason drought in October and retain Shohei Ohtani during the winter." (Via The Athletic)

The investigation from both the MLB and the Oakland Police Department shouldn't take too much longer to wrap up so we should get some clear answers soon as to what really went down and if Rendon will be penalized in any way.
