Mike Trout's Late Homer Put Finishing Touches on Angels' Best 2023 Win
Mike Trout is currently in his 13th MLB season and we are somehow still watching him get better and better. Only injuries have been able to slow him down these past couple of seasons but he's been nothing available thus far into 2023.
And what an outing it was for him Wednesday night against the St.Louis Cardinals. It was looking LA might somehow take a loss despite 13 strikeouts from Shohei Ohtani but Trout, along with the support of Jake Lamb, was not about to let a performance like that go to waste and LA prevailed 6-4
Stepping up to the plate in the ninth inning with the score tied 4-4 after Lamb had just connected on a dinger, the 31-year-old knew exactly what needed to be done and delivered.
It was his first walk-off home run since 2015 and his energy was off the charts after he helped the Halos take the lead.
He loves how the team is performing right now and believes in the offensive capabilities of the entire lineup.
"Yeah, we're deep," said Trout. "It doesn't matter who's up there. We're just going to keep grinding at-bats, having good at-bats, and good things happen."
"I've been grinding up there," said Trout. "I was joking in the dugout that the hit by pitch was probably the hardest ball I hit all week and then I got it. That's baseball, I just gotta keep pushing."

And Trout has indeed been pushing all season long. With a current slash line .296/.388/.583 and the current second-best odds to take home the 2023 AL MVP, he's putting on a show for the baseball world.
