Pretty much all the buzz around Major League Baseball of late has been about what the Los Angeles Angels are going to do with two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani. Will they trade him? Will they hold onto him while risking losing him for nothing over the offseason?

It has been the talk of the town and for good reason. Ohtani is the biggest show in the sport and is the modern-day Babe Ruth. It’s not an easy decision to just trade him away, and the Angels have been trying to figure things out.

Things seem to have become much easier for them of late with the team starting to win games once again. Now the Angels all but look like they will hold onto Ohtani and make a potential push toward the playoffs.

MLB insider Ken Rosenthal all but confirmed this on a recent episode of the Foul Territory show. He gave an update on the plans for Ohtani.

"I will tell you, as of this moment. And again, things can change, it’s looking increasingly unlikely."

This is probably the smartest move for the Angels at this point since they have started to pick things up in the win column. If they moved on from Ohtani without giving the team a chance, fans may never forgive the organization.

“Right now if I had to guess, Ohtani stays.”

With his impending free agency coming up, it could be a risk, but they can always play the narrative that he chose to leave when he was a free agent.

The Angels haven't seen the postseason since 2014, and while their odds seem bleak right now, they do have a chance. If they can hold their ground for the next few weeks, they will be getting star outfielder Mike Trout back in the mix.

With Trout coming back and the recent winning, it's hard to envision the Angels being sellers at the deadline. This is the correct move, as they owe it to their fans to at least try to make a push for the postseason.
