Astros Use Same Lineup As Rangers Reshuffle Order For ALCS Game 5

The Houston Astros and Texas Rangers have set their lineups for Game 5 of the American League Championship Series.

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Houston Astros have set their lineup for Game 5 of the American League Championship Series with the Texas Rangers, which is set for Friday at Globe Life Field.

Game time is set for 4:07 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on FS1.

After losing the first two games of the series, the Astros bounced back to win Games 3 and 4 and tie the series. The Astros continued their mastery of the Rangers at Globe Life Field, where they are 8-1 in 2023, with a 6-1 record in the regular season and a 2-0 record in the postseason.

On Friday, the Astros opted to stick with the same lineup that scored them 10 runs in Game 4 against the Rangers. That puts seven right-handed hitters facing Rangers starter Jordan Montgomery.

The Rangers shook up their lineup, moving switch-hitting center field Leody Taveras up to No. 5 while sliding down designated hitter Mitch Garver to eighth and catcher Jonah Heim to ninth.

Game 6 is set for Sunday in Houston.
