Prior to Wednesday's contest with the Boston Red Sox, the Houston Astros announced their Minor League Players of the Month — outfielder Justin Dirden and right-handed pitcher Miguel Ullola.

Dirden won Texas League Player of the Week for the final stretch of games of July. The Double-A farmhand continues to display offensive numbers en route to an eventual promotion to Triple-A. The 25-year-old slashed .412/.500/.741 in 22 July games. Dirden slapped eight doubles, one triple and six home runs to his 10 walks and 19 RBI.

Ullola posted a 0.54 ERA and a 2-0 record across four games with two starts for Single-A Fayetteville. With 25 strikeouts, the 20-year-old also amounted a 0.84 WHIP and a .148 opponent batting average.
