The Houston Astros announced Tuesday that the club had optioned Korey Lee, Taylor Jones and J.J. Matijevic to make room for Trey Mancini, Christian Vázquez and Alex Bregman — who spent one day on the paternity list.

Catcher Jason Castro was transferred to the 60-day injured list from the 10-day with left knee discomfort to open a 40-man roster spot for Vázquez. Mancini found a roster spot free as José Siri departing for Tampa Bay.

Castro's season is over after undergoing left meniscus surgery last week. The 35-year-old will be a free agent this winter. The Astros also activated lefty Will Smith, replacing Jake Odorizzi on the roster.
