Three bold predictions for the Atlanta Braves vs the Miami Marlins
The Atlanta Braves host the Miami Marlins this weekend and it could end up being huge for either team.
Any NL East series will hold importance but Atlanta has a prime chance to really solidify a lead in the division this weekend. The Braves currently hold a six-game lead for the NL East ahead of the Marlins, a series win, or even a sweep, would extend their lead drastically as the All-Star break approaches. Of course, the Marlins could also close the gap in the division is the series goes that direction.
The Braves are one of the hottest teams in baseball and have a chance to close out an incredible June with a series against Miami.
Here are three bold predictions for this weekend.
Michael Soroka's ovation will be historic
The Braves pitcher will make his first start in Atlanta in years and with Friday night's game being a sold out/standing room only type atmosphere, it could get fun.
The Braves will hit a first inning home run in all three games
Of the three takes, this one is the most bold. Looking over the last few years, the Braves have had Miami's number and with how quick this lineup can explode and get on the board, why not?
The Braves will sweep the Marlins
Many believe the Braves are the hottest team in baseball. If they keep hitting like they have been, they should win all three games this weekend.
Check out a tad deeper dive into these conversations on a video we put up yesterday discussing the series and some bold predictions ahead of it.
