Three Atlanta Braves win Silver Slugger awards for 2023

The Braves also won the inaugural Team Silver Slugger award

As award season continues in MLB, the league's best offense continues to get recognized with awards for their historic regular season.

Today it's Silver Slugger awards, as the Atlanta Braves won XX individual awards and the team award to commemorate their league-leading offense in the 2023 regular season.

Atlanta has a mixed record with Silver Slugger awards recently; after winning four in 2020 (Ronald Acuña Jr, Travis d'Arnaud, Marcell Ozuna, Freddie Freeman) and four last year (Austin Riley, Ozzie Albies, Max Fried, and Freeman), no Braves player won the award for 2022.

Among those winning in 2023:

RF Ronald Acuña Jr, because of course he did. The Braves slugger is the likely MVP for the National League after only the 5th 40/40 season in baseball history, while also *deep breath* leading all of MLB in hits (217), runs (149), stolen bases (73), on-base percentage (.416), and total bases (383) while leading the NL in plate appearances (735) and at-bats (643), OPS (1.012), and OPS+ (168).

3B Austin Riley, his 2nd award in three years.

and 1B Matt Olson won his first Silver Slugger in his six year career after leading all of baseball in homers (54) and RBIs (139), breaking Atlanta franchise records for both.

The Team Award went to the Atlanta Braves, as well. This was an offense that tied the MLB record with 307 regular season home runs, outscoring their opponents by a league-leading 231 runs on the way to their 6th consecutive NL East championship. This is the only time that a team has slugged at or greater than .500 for an entire season, with Atlanta ending at .501.
