Takeaways from Atlanta's game one win vs Cincinnati
After three straight losses at home at the hands of the San Diego Padres, the Atlanta Braves needed a win in front of the friendly crowd a Truist Park.
They did just that in a low-scoring affair, as questions swirled around this Braves lineup and pitching staff. Both did enough Monday night to open the series with a victory
Sean Murphy walks it off
Murphy's first home run as an Atlanta Brave came at a perfect time. His first career walk-off home run was a two-run blast that broke the hearts of the Cincinnati Reds that battled back by scoring two runs in the ninth for force extras. After scoring a go-ahead run in the 10th to go up 4-3, the Braves took care of business.
The walk off homer traveled 408 feet and had an exit velo of 107.2 miles per hour.

Bryce Elder made a case to be a part of Atlanta's rotation
Elder backed up his performance against the St. Louis Cardinals earlier this season with an outing that included 6.1 innings pitched, seven strikeouts, a walk, and allowed only six hits with no runs.
With uncertainty about the fourth and fifth starters in Atlanta's rotation due to Max Fried being on the IL, another solid performance from the 23-year-old is exactly what Atlanta needed.
AJ Minter blew a save
Minter pitched one inning and gave up two earned runs that allowed the Reds to force the action into extra innings. He now has six innings of action in the 2023 season with a 3.00 ERA and a 1-0 record.
Kyle Wright will start Tuesday
All signs point to Kyle Wright being the Atlanta starter Tuesday night. According to multiple reports, he will be activated from the 15-day IL sometime before tomorrow's action to start against the Reds.
This will be his 2023 season debut. The 27-year-old touts a 23-12 career record and a 4.13 ERA, and led all of MLB last year with 21 wins. He's been slowed this season by a sore shoulder, necessitating a cortisone injection in January that delayed the start to his spring training and required an IL stint (and minor league rehab game) to build up for the season
What's next?
Tuesday's game in Truist Park is scheduled for a 7:20 ET first pitch. The game broadcast, with Voice of the Braves Brandon Gaudin, is available inside Braves Country on Bally Sports Southeast, and is available on MLB.TV outside of the broadcast area. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
