Braves Briefing: How would you fix the Atlanta Braves?
The Atlanta Braves split a quick two-game series against the Boston Red Sox as the bats never got going Wednesday night. An off day on Thursday could help the squad as they travel to Toronto as they take on the Blue Jays for three games before heading to Texas to face the Rangers.
How would you fix the Atlanta Braves?
MLB.com put out a story pointing out that every team in baseball has a flaw and asked their writers what they would do to fix the holes in each team.
Regarding Atlanta, almost everyone would have the same answer - pitching. There may be some disagreement on adding a starter vs a reliever but it certainly seems almost unanimous that most Braves fans would love another arm, especially with Max Fried and Kyle Wright missing some time.
Braves.com's Mark Bowman said the same thing. Here's what he wrote:
With Max Fried and Kyle Wright likely sidelined into July, the Braves need Jared Shuster, Dylan Dodd and Michael Soroka to combine to adequately fill the two vacant rotation spots. If the Braves want to keep Soroka at the Minor League level to monitor his innings, Dodd and Shuster are going to have to prove they can consistently throw strikes at the big league level. They both impressed during Spring Training. But now they must prove they are ready to be key contributors.
For some of you reading this saying they want Marcell Ozuna out of the lineup, we totally get it.

Braves Today's Andrew Stefaniak took over our takeaways Wednesday night and one of his bigger ones in the loss was pointing out that the "big hit" never came.
The Braves left 16 runners on base in this game which is a ton. Ironically the Red Sox left 18 on base but still left with the victory. I have always been a big believer in the "big hit" to spark the offense. A two-out base hit with runners on second and third would be a perfect example of what I am referring to, and the Braves couldn't do that in this ball game. The Braves got them on but couldn't get them in, leading to this 5-2 loss. This happens sometimes in baseball, but you won't keep this prolific Braves offense down very long.
Here are the full list of takeaways.
