Atlanta Braves Stars Participate In A Huge Night For The Hobby

The Atlanta Braves did their part in supporting the growing hobby of sports card collecting.

The Atlanta Braves took part in one of the largest nights in card collecting.

On February 14, Topps released one of the biggest products of the year, 2024 Topps Series One Baseball. This past Saturday was Fanatics Collectibles's Topps Hobby Rip Night.

Braves’ MVP Ronald Acuña Jr., MLB Hall-of-Famer Chipper Jones, and hip-hop artist Meek Mill made surprise appearances at Blue Breaks in Venice, FL and Cards HQ in Atlanta, GA as part in the festivities. At the events, Acuna, Chipper, and Meek interacted directly with the kids in attendance, taking photos, answered questions, and trading cards from their own collection.

Acuña, who is pictured on every single Topps Series One pack of cards this year, has become a huge name in the hobby of sports cards and memorabilia. Already in 2024, Acuna signed cards have been sold on eBay for up to $20,000.

Acuña, the reigning unanimous NL MVP, has become one of the biggest brands in baseball. He is also one of the biggest non-rookie chases in Topps newest baseball set Topps Five Star Baseball. (An incredible 5/5 Ronald Acuna auto was pulled at my local card shop, The CRD Shop.)

Other big faces of the hobby went elsewhere to celebrate the big day for the hobby.

Tom Brady and Dylan Harper made an appearance at Skybox Collectibles at Citi Field in New York. Another big chase in the hobby, Arizona Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll made a similar appearance at Vallywide Cards in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Atlanta Braves have started Spring Training and players like Michael Harris II have started out strong.
