Braves Briefing: Are the New York Mets scared of the Atlanta Braves?

Here's a look around MLB from an Atlanta Braves perspective

The Atlanta Braves may have won their series against the Miami Marlins, but the three hour rain delay and the 9th inning collapse in game four sure doesn't make it feel like a series win.

But Atlanta's back on the road, now with Michael Harris II in tow, for a matchup against division rival New York Mets.

Mets fans are scared of this Braves team

The Mets organization treats any series against Atlanta as their Super Bowl, going as far as asking Max Scherzer to drop his appeal of a ten-game suspension he was given after being ejected for foreign substances on April 19th so that he's eligible to return on May 1st, the last game of the series.

But Mets fans are shook. They've gone as far as hoping that the weather intervenes, so that they don't need to face the tandem of Max Fried and Spencer Strider on Friday and Saturday.

NL East Standings

This division is as even as possible over the last ten games, with only the Philadelphia Phillies boasting a winning record (7-3) and everyone else, even the lowly Nationals, at 5-5 over the last ten.

We Wrote It

Braves Today writer and Locked On Braves host Jake Mastroianni wrote about the optimal lineup construction after the Braves get some injured position players back.

Michael Harris II and Travis d'Arnaud have combined to play in just 15 games this year. TDA was the team's best hitter when he went down. And let's not forget about the fact they lost Orlando Arcia who was on fire to begin the season -- both in the field and at the plate.
