Lineup, how to watch the Atlanta Braves go for the series sweep against the New York Yankees

Atlanta's sending Uncle Charlie to the mound against rookie starter Randy Vásquez, looking to secure the sweep

What a difference a week makes.

This time last week, Atlanta was fresh off a split series against the Pittsburgh Pirates where some starters all got blasted early and the Braves bats had to slug their way to two wins in four games.

But now? Atlanta's feeling pretty good. Winners of five of their last six, Braves starters have been going deep into games, the bats have been putting up runs at will, and the divisional lead's actually increased by a game and a half over Philly.

Atlanta's trying to get their eleventh sweep of the season tonight as they close out the series with the New York Yankees in Truist Park.

Lineup for the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday, August 16th

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

Atlanta's sticking with what's worked over the last few days - Michael Harris II batting in Ozzie's #2 spot, the red-hot Marcell Ozuna batting 5th, followed by Eddie Rosario and the catcher's spot (filled tonight by Travis d'Arnaud), and Nicky Lopez batting 9th and playing 2nd base.

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves and New York Yankees on Wednesday, August 16th

Wednesday's pitcher for the Yankees is another spot starter, Randy Vásquez. Originally thought of as a bulk reliever that was called up to fill in the rotation, he's actually been decently effective in his three starts: 2-1 with a 1.89 ERA. He's appeared in four total games, covering 19 innings, with 12 strikeouts and 2 home runs allowed. No Braves player has faced Vásquez.

Opposing the Yankees is the series finale is veteran Charlie Morton. 11-10 with a 3.71 ERA in his 23 starts, he's received a decision in 21 of his 23 starts, striking out 136 and walking 65 in his 128.2 innings. He's coming off a most unusual start on Friday night against the Mets: five innings with three hits and SEVEN walks, but no runs allowed in a 7-0 Braves victory.
