WATCH: Arcia drives in two thanks to a nifty slide from Ozzie Albies

Orlando Arcia continues his quest to be the starting NL shortstop in the All-Star Game

When MLB put out the preliminary vote totals for the All-Star Game, many people were surprised that Orlando Arcia was the leading vote-getter amongst shortstops in the National League.

You shouldn't be.

Arcia continued his torrid season today, going 2-4 with two runs and two RBIs in the early game before adding some key runs in game two.

With Atlanta holding a slim 3-1 lead in the 4th inning, Arcia sent a shot past a diving shortstop and into left field, scoring Eddie Rosario from 3rd and setting up a play at the plate for Ozzie Albies.

Albies avoided the tag from Tigers catcher Jake Rogers thanks to a nifty swim move on the tag, scoring from 2nd on a ball to shallow left field.

Those runs ended up being pretty important, as Detroit put up a four-spot in the bottom of the 4th to tie the game at five. This is the rubber match of the series, with the winner of this game taking the series.
