WATCH: Matt Olson and Austin Riley go back to back to put the Braves up early
As we've discussed so many times this season, this Atlanta Braves offense is lethal early in ballgames.
For an example of this, turn on your TV.
ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball is in the house, and they got to witness the firepower firsthand. The Braves opened the bottom of the 1st against Phillies starter Dylan Covey with four straight hits - single by Ronald Acuña Jr (on the first pitch), homerun by Matt Olson (on a 3-2 count), homerun by Austin Riley, and a single by Sean Murphy.
Let's watch the carnage:
Olson's blast was a big one - 464 feet. It's his longest of the season and second-longest of his career, as well as the third longest hit by a Braves player this season.
By comparison, Riley's was only 412 feet.
Ozzie Albies later singled in two more runs, scoring Marcell Ozuna from 3rd and Eddie Rosario from 2nd.
The Braves tallied five runs on six hits in the first inning before starter Dylan Covey was lifted from the game.
