WATCH: Money Mike, Ronald Acuña go back to back for Braves' fourth and fifth homers of the night

Atlanta has five dingers and a triple in their first ten plate appearances tonight

The Atlanta Braves are an absolute fireball right now, and tonight has so far just been a vulgar display of power. Twins starter Joe Ryan, who tossed a three-hit complete game shutout against the Red Sox in his last start, is just getting pummeled tonight. After serving up three dingers in the first inning, he retired Orlando Arcia on a grounder to open the second, then got ahead of Michael Harris II 0-2. That didn't help him at all.

The three first-inning jacks came on fastballs, but Money Mike got a sweeper and swept it out into a loudspeaker in the Chop House. As we all marveled at the Braves hitting four dingers in their first turn through the batting order, Ronald Acuña came up for the second time and reminded everyone that there's no rest for the weary when facing this lineup.

This bomb, which came on a full-count splitter, "only" traveled 361 feet at 97 mph, as La Bestia got it a little off the end of the bat and still had enough bat speed and strength to line it into the Twins' bullpen down the left-field line. That's both bullpens that have now been graced by mashes from Acuña already tonight, and we're only in the second inning.

The Braves lead 6-1 behind Bryce Elder. The game broadcast, with Voice of the Braves Brandon Gaudin, is available inside Braves Country on Bally Sports South and is available on TBS and MLB.TV outside of the broadcast area. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
