Braves officially decide on pending roster options, 40-man roster spots
The Atlanta Braves have officially confirmed their decisions on all pending club options, with only Charlie Morton's 2024 option being picked up for next season.
After officially declining their half of reliever Brad Hand's mutual option yesterday, the Braves have followed suit with relievers Collin McHugh and Kirby Yates.
Kirby Yates has a $5.75M club option with a $1.25M buyout, while Collin McHugh has a $6M club option with $1M buyout.
The trio of relievers will join outfielder Eddie Rosario in free agency, as Atlanta has confirmed last night's reporting that his option would be declined.
Additionally, Atlanta has seemingly decided on their 40-man roster decisions, activating all eight of their injured pitchers from the 60-day injured list and making room on the 40-man roster by sending Jackson Stephens to AAA Gwinnett - Stephens instead elected free agency and is available to be signed by all thirty teams.
Lastly, Atlanta claimed left-handed pitcher Angel Perdomo off of waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 29 year-old was 3-2 with a 3.72 ERA in thirty relief appearances last season for the Pirates, striking out 44 and walking 11 in his 29 innings pitched. Originally signed as an international free agent in 2011 by the Toronto Blue Jays, Perdomo debuted with Milwaukee in 2020 and after being released, signed with the Pirates as a free agent in February of 2023.
