Yankees GM Cashman Praises Cubs New Acquisition Taillon
The Chicago Cubs vastly improved when they added right-hander Jameson Taillon to their starting rotation.
Executives are noticing, too.
Brian Cashman, General Manager of the New York Yankees, recently appeared on 670 WSCR in Chicago and gushed over Taillon.
“He’s a gamer,” Cashman told 670 WSCR. “He gives you innings. He’s a tremendous teammate. I think he’s going to be a really valuable, solid piece for the Cubs as they mov forward. He’s going to be someone we miss. He’s a winner too. So at the end of the day, the Cubs got a good one there.”
The 31-year-old Taillon holds an impressive career 3.84 ERA over 143 starts.
More than statistics, Taillon will provide veteran leadership to a team that has shown a willingness to spend money to vault them back to the playoffs.
