The Chicago Cubs wanted a leader and they signed one this offseason in shortstop Dansby Swanson. Instantly the face of the franchise upon signing, Dansby is getting straight to work to immerse himself with his teammates and the Cubs fanbase.

A perfect example was on Thursday during a Cactus League matchup with the Cincinnati Reds. During the bottom of the sixth inning Swanson was on camera giving an in-game interview to the Marquee Sports Network broadcast.

While on camera, outfielder Christopher Morel launched a beautiful home run to help propel a six run inning. As Morel launched it you can see and hear Swanson exclaim "The boys are hot! The boys are hot!"

The Cubs completed the comeback on the back of three home runs in the third inning. They eventually would win the matchup against their divisional foes 8-6.

It was a promising sign to see Chicago fight back into the game and then eventually win. Having a huge boost in spirit from the new heart and soul of the franchise also helps.

The boys were indeed hot on Thursday afternoon.
