Chicago Cubs Release 2023 Spring Training Schedule
The Chicago Cubs will return to Sloan Park in Mesa, AZ for spring training for the eighth year in 2022. With MLB's release of the 2023 spring training schedule, Chicagoans can finally plan their trip down to Arizona for the beginning of 2023 and the Cactus League season.
For only the second time since 2019, MLB looks to have an entirely normal spring training in 2023, with 2020's cancelled mid-way through for the COVID-19 pandemic, and 2022's starting mid-way through for the MLB lockout.
The slate of games begins Feb. 25 and will continue March 28. The Cubs' Cactus League opener will see them take on the San Francisco Giants at Sloan Park at 2:05 CST.
On March 28 to end that schedule, they'll face the White Sox at 2:05 CDT. The Cubs also have a notable game March 8 at 2:05 CST when they face one of the World Baseball Classic teams. The country of their opponent is yet to be determined, but tune ups for those squads will be necessary.
The WBC tournament will span from March 8 through the March 21 final in Miami. The group stage located in the United States, containing Canada, Mexico, Colombia and USA doesn't start until March 11.
The Cubs' television network, Marquee Sports, has not yet announced broadcast dates for select spring training games.
