Chicago Cubs Will Have Games Streaming on Peacock This MLB Season
The Chicago Cubs will have two games that will stream on NBC's Peacock platform. The deal to stream MLB games on Peacock was agreed to before the 2022 MLB season and went into affect last season.
During the 2022 season, only teams on the east coast were on the streaming service due to time slot restrictions and therefore the Cubs avoided being on the platform. That will change this year as Chicago will play on Sunday, June 18 when they host the Baltimore Orioles and Sunday, April 30 against the Miami Marlins.
The games will be on Peacock Premium, so a subscription will be necessary to watch. This announcement comes at a time when Apple TV+ has moved to have their own "Saturday Night" baseball program and regional broadcasters are struggling.
This once again highlights a contentious issue with fans and MLB's front office in which gaining access to games grows increasingly harder with blackouts and tiffs with regional outlets are becoming more commonplace.
