Marcus Stroman tossed six scoreless innings and the Chicago Cubs won.

Again.

The Cubs (10-6) blanked the Oakland Athletics (3-15) 4-0 on Tuesday night as Stroman allowed only two hits while striking out five and walking two. His ERA dropped to a miniscule 0.75.

Stroman retired the final 14 batters he faced.

Stroman joined Jake Arrieta (2016) as the only Cubs starter in the modern era (since 1901) with at least three scoreless starts of six innings or more through the team’s first 16 games.

Mark Leiter Jr., Michael Fulmer and Michael Rucker gave up no hits with three strikeouts and three walks. Leiter Jr. (1-0) earned the win in relief.

Cody Bellinger, Yan Gomes and Nick Madrigal each contributed one RBI and Nico Hoerner reached safely on an error for the final run. All four runs came in the eighth inning.

Seiya Suzuki reached base safely all five times and scored the team’s first run.

The Cubs will look to stay on a positive roll and will aim for the three-game series sweep over Oakland on Wednesday afternoon.
