Watch: Chicago Cubs Have Incredible Start to MLB Season
The Chicago Cubs are really looking like contenders over 20 games into the 2023 MLB season. They have made statement wins against the Los Angeles Dodgers and sit at a 12-9 record.
Their offense has been powered by Ian Happ, Nico Hoerner and a surging Cody Bellinger. It has been one of the most consistent units in the National League and has produced plenty of power.
The rotation has been a highlight as well. Marcus Stroman has been impressive early outside of his latest start against the Dodgers. Drew Smyly nearly threw a perfect game but ended when his catcher decided to tackle him. But Jameson Taillon and Hayden Wesneski have disappointed to start the year.
The bullpen has seen its ups and downs with Michael Fulmer being a huge disappointment this season. That being said there has been plenty of positives from the unit.
