Dodgers Have Odds Stacked Against Them to Come Back in NLDS
Only 16 times the team with home-field advantage dropped the first two games of the Division Series, and only two of them came back to win. So, the odds are seemingly against the Dodgers in this one but never say never.
LA has the capability to make a comeback, but they simply just need to play better. Their success from the regular season seems to have come to a halt, and once again the bright lights of October may have something to do with it.
It’s been a strange phenomenon over the years for this team, and one that doesn’t make a ton of sense. But now the Dodgers have their backs against the wall, and we will see what they are really made of.
Will they fold and go out to another early exit? Or will they fight back, and show that they just had a few poor games to open the series?
If LA can’t come back from this series, it will be another long off-season for them. They will need to figure out how to fix these issues moving forward because something does need to change.
Manager Dave Roberts will likely get most of the blame, but in reality, he hasn’t been at fault in this series. The offense has just gone completely cold, and he can’t do much about that.
If the offense finds its groove in game three, it could start a chain reaction to get LA back into this series. The team has won three games in a row multiple times this season, but right now, they just need to take things one game at a time.
It’s the survive and advance mentality for the Dodgers at this point, and if they can find a way to send this series back to Los Angeles, anything can happen. The hope is that going down to the desert wakes them up, and if not, changes could be coming to this organization.
