The MLB playoffs start next week, and the question still remains around the Dodgers organization about who will start for them in the postseason rotation. We already know that game one and two will be a combination of veteran Clayton Kershaw and rookie Bobby Miller, but nobody knows how it will shake out.

Manager Dave Roberts has said that they will wait to see who the opponent will be before they make any final decisions, but that hasn’t stopped people from speculating. There are pros and cons to having each pitch in a particular game, and one insider believes that they have the correct plan.

Harold Reynolds of MLB Network gave his thoughts on the Dodgers pitching plan for the playoffs and believes that Kershaw should be taking the ball in game two.

“I would have taken Kershaw and pitched him game two cause I know what I’m going to get from Kershaw. I have no idea how Bobby Miller is going to react to the postseason.”

There have been a lot of people who believe that Miller should start game one for the Dodgers, as he has arguably been their best pitcher all season. The only risk is that he is a rookie, and the stage could be too big for him.

But he has shown a level of poise on the mound, so the bright lights may not bother him at all. His patience has also been impressive, and he has seemed to get better as the year has progressed.

Reynolds continued with his explanation for his game plan.

“So, what if Kershaw loses game one, then I come back with Bobby Miller, who I have no idea what he is gonna give me. At least if I lose game one, I know what Clayton is gonna give me. I’m right back in the series.”

The best part about all of this is that LA has two very solid options to start game one of the postseason. They both will give them a chance to win the game, and that is all you can ask for. The hope is that the bats stay alive this year, and LA can go get another World Series victory.
