Heading into the final week of the baseball season, we still don’t have a clear idea who is going to win the National League MVP award. The four frontrunners all deserve to win, and a case can be made for each of them for their great 2023 seasons.

Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman have been helping carry the Dodgers all season long, while Ronald Acuna Jr. and Matt Olson have done the same for the Atlanta Braves. The four men have been some of the best hitters in baseball, and entering this final week, it’s the last chance for any to step away from the pack.

Betts and Acuna Jr. are the two likely frontrunners, so this is their chance to help pad their stats. Both the Dodgers and Braves have locked up playoff spots, so the individual awards are what is left to accomplish over these next few games.

And if Dodgers manager Dave Roberts can help with anything, he will be giving his guys a chance to make their case as the team heads to Colorado for a three-game series with the Rockies.

"We only have so many games left and I want Mookie and Freddie to give a good run at this MVP," Roberts said. "Everyone knows Colorado is a hitter friendly place and if they can throw out some hits and some homers and it pads their stats and we win some baseball games I'm all for that too."

Coors Field in Colorado can help both Dodgers players with their MVP case, due to the offensive surge that normally takes place there. LA has a double-header on Tuesday, before wrapping the series up on Wednesday, so they will get plenty of chances to hit.

On the year, Betts is hitting .309 with 39 home runs and 105 runs batted in. Freeman is hitting .332 with 26 home runs and 96 runs batted in.

Both players have been the epitome of consistency this season, as the year has gone on. They have helped keep this Dodgers team stable through the tougher moments of the season, and it has been impressive to see.

They give LA a true dynamic duo, and it makes for a tough night for the opponent each time out. The Dodgers will be counting on their All-Stars to produce heavily in the playoffs, and if they can come through, LA will have a great shot to win it all.
