Dodgers News: LA Dumps Struggling Pitcher to the Guardians in Trade for Shortstop
Noah Syndergaard's time in LA is now up as the Dodgers have traded the right-handed pitcher away to the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for shortstop, Amed Rosario.
This news comes as a newly released detail that is part of trade that the Dodgers were working for Rosario.
Syndergaard's tenure in Los Angeles didn't get to bear its potential fruit as the former Met and Angel has struggled all season long to get his true pitching self going.
Syndergaard has also been dealing with some blister issues and has been on the Dodgers injured list since the beginning of June.
In his half season with Los Angeles, the so-called "Thor" had an underwhelming 7.16 ERA and allowed 44 earned runs in just 12 appearances.
Noah Syndergaard will now try to rejuvenate his career in Cleveland, where the Guardians are currently fighting for the AL Central, as they are only 2 games behind the Minnesota Twins.
The departure brings in shortstop, Amed Rosario, who fills a huge need for LA.
Rosario, who's only spent two and a half seasons in Cleveland, was picked up by LA in order to get some right-handed batting reinforcements.
Hitting .303 with one homer, 11 RBIs and an OPS of .822 OPS against lefties, Rosario will certainly make a positive impact in LA.
