Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas Puts World Series or Bust Label on 2023 Season for LA

It's go time for the Dodgers.
In this story:

Playing for a team like the Los Angeles Dodgers can have challenges compared to other organizations. Not only are you playing in one of the largest markets in the United States, but there is a certain pressure to win as well.

The fans in Los Angeles demand excellence, and if the goal of winning a World Series isn’t met, then the season is considered a failure. While the Dodgers haven’t won championships, they have set a standard of success that needs to be reached each year.

Shortstop Miguel Rojas recently spoke with MLB analyst Chris Rose and explained that if the team doesn’t win the World Series this season, it will be a failure of a year.

“This organization expects excellence. They go into spring training every single year with an opportunity to win the World Series. When you put this uniform on, you know you’re playing for the championship.”

Per Miguel Rojas

Rojas came back to the Dodgers this past offseason after spending time with another organization, so he understands how different things can be. He knows that there is an expectation to win when you put on the Dodgers uniform and that the team has put themselves in a good spot to win this season.

The Dodgers hold the third-best record in baseball as the playoffs get going for them this weekend, so they have a good shot to win. It all stems from the mindset that had been with this organization and the goals that were set at the start of the year.

“In spring training, we had a really good meeting. Dave Roberts was in the middle of the room, and asked all the new guys that we got there why we chose the Dodgers. A couple of us got here via trade but when I got the call, I got the option of saying, ‘No I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to go to the Dodgers to be a utility player.’ What I recapped from that meeting was that everybody is in this clubhouse to win. If we don’t win the World Series this year, it’s going to be a failure, and we’re going to have to do something to win the next year.”

Per Miguel Rojas

While the bat of Rojas hasn’t always been there this year, he has contributed in different ways. His leadership has been awesome for this club, and hopefully, the team can finish the job this season.
