Dodgers Notes: Kyle Hurt Could Pitch in October, Playoff Rotation, Buehler Opens Up
The Dodgers got a much needed off day in the books on Thursday following a series loss to the Cancun bound Padres. Today they begin a three game series in Seattle against the Mariners with Bobby Miller getting the ball for LA.
In other news, after a definitive feeling statement from Dave Roberts, who initially said rookie pitcher Kyle Hurt wouldn't be an option for the Dodgers in the playoffs, the manager seemingly changed his tune one night after the right-hander's debut.
“So I don’t know what’s going to happen with Kyle. He could come back. My encouragement to him was, ‘You filled the zone, you had swing and miss, you had a great experience. Continue to do that, and you never know what can happen.”
Hurt could boost the overall pitching staff for LA which is still thin in starting pitching. The playoff rotation remains the biggest question mark for the Dodgers.
Also, Walker Buehler opened up about the decision to shut it down for 2023.
