On Monday, the Los Angeles Dodgers removed Julio Urías’ locker in the team's clubhouse. President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman tried to downplay the team’s action when speaking to Doug Padilla of the Orange County Register.

“Right now, we’re still in wait-and-see mode,” Friedman said. “It’s in Major League Baseball’s hands, and for right now, for us, it’s about having adequate space for players that are in there. Nothing more, nothing less. Obviously, when there is more news, then we will react accordingly.”

On Sunday, September 3rd, Urías was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence while attending an LAFC soccer game. Immediately, the Dodgers prevented Urías from traveling with the team. On Thursday, Major League Baseball put Urías on administrative leave while they investigate the incident.

Urías has a court date set for September 27th. Even if he is acquitted in court, Major League Baseball can find him guilty.

In 2019, the league suspended Urías for 20 games for the violation of Major League Baseball’s domestic abuse policy. If Major League Baseball suspends Urías again, he will be the first major leaguer to be suspended twice for domestic violence.

It is doubtful that Major League Baseball will finish its investigation before the postseason begins. Therefore, Urías won’t pitch in the postseason for the Dodgers.

Urías will become a free agent for the first time after this season, and it's unlikely LA re-signs him.
