Coming into the offseason, the Dodgers first order of business is seeing what it will take to land two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani. Secondly, the team has a clear need to upgrade their starting pitching.

Their rotation doomed them this past season, and it saw them falter in the postseason. LA is expected to be aggressive in upgrading their rotation, but realistically, the Dodgers may only be able to land one front-of-the-line guy.

The team has been linked to many names already, but one in particular seems to be gaining some steam. That would be free-agent pitcher Aaron Nola from the Philadelphia Phillies, and he would be a hell of a get if they could sign him.

"[We're] starting to hear the Dodgers connected to Aaron Nola more than any other free agent pitchers. So he's a guy that many believe will age well because he's not a thrower, he's a pitcher, and he's a guy that's made 32 starts consistently over the last five years and thrown close to 200 innings. So, that would be a really good fit if the Dodgers are able to land Aaron Nola."

If LA is able to land Nola, it would be the front-line starter that the team needs to add this winter. Nola would fit in well with the Dodgers rotation and would give the team another solid playoff performer as well.

Nola doesn’t shy away from the bright moments, excelling in the postseason through his time in the league. This past season he posted an ERA of 4.46 in the regular season, but when the lights shined brightest, it dropped down to 2.35 over four postseason games.

He would immediately bolster the Dodgers rotation, and slot in well alongside Bobby Miller and Walker Buehler. While it may take a bidding war to land him, LA has the money to spend, and hopefully, they can spend it effectively to bring in an ace like Nola.
